In one sentence

These apps collect nothing. No account, no advertising, no analytics, no tracker. Your files, your library and your history stay on your device.

What stays with you

Everything, and in particular:

  • your audio and video files, and the folders you choose;
  • your library: tracks, albums, artists, series, playlists;
  • your history, your favourites and where each item stopped;
  • the addresses and credentials of your own media servers.

None of it is sent anywhere. We run no server: there is no account to create, so there is nothing to tie to you.

What leaves your device, and only when you ask

Some features query public services. They run only when you use them, and you can do without them entirely.

Feature Service contacted What is sent
Identify a badly tagged track AcoustID, MusicBrainz An audio fingerprint, the length, and the title or artist read from the file. Never the file itself.
Find lyrics LRCLIB The track's title, artist and length.
Listen to radio Radio Browser Your search.
Browse public domain films Internet Archive Your search.
Fill in a film or series entry TMDB, OMDb, TVmaze The title, and the year where known.

These services receive, as any site you visit does, your IP address and the time of the request. They have their own terms, which we do not control. Nothing reaches them until you use the feature concerned.

Identifications are kept on your device: a track already recognised is never asked about again.

What the apps ask of your device

Permission Why If you refuse
Files and folders Read the music and videos you point at The app sees only its own folder
Photo library (iOS, video) List the videos in the Photos app That source does not appear
Music library (iOS, audio) List the songs in the Music app That source does not appear
Local network Find your servers and the devices to cast to Remote playback does not work
Notifications (Android) Show what is playing on the lock screen Playback continues, without a notification

None of these permissions is used for anything other than what is written here.

Children

These apps are not directed at children and knowingly collect no data about them — since they collect none at all.

Your rights

As nothing is collected, there is no data to see, correct or delete on our side. Uninstalling the app removes everything it kept on your device.

Changes

Any change to this page will be dated above. Earlier versions remain in the repository's public history.
